With The Hateful Eight about to hit select theaters in 70mm roadshow format on Christmas day, director Quentin Tarantino has been making the rounds to promote it. With as outspoken a director as Tarantino is, though, his interviews rarely cover just the movie alone.

In addition to doing publicity for his new film, Tarantino has been in the spotlight recently for comments he made about police brutality and for his ongoing feud with Spike Lee, director of the controversial Chi-Raq. The subject he is most outspoken about, however, remains his own films.

In an hour-long video interview with Ben Mankiewicz of What the Flick?!, Tarantino spoke on a number of issues, including The Hateful Eight, criticism of his use of the n-word in his films, and the recent police brutality controversy. He also spoke about his past films and what may be in store for the future, including the possibility of a Kill Bill 3.

“There definitely is a possibility… stop short of saying a probability. But there could be. For one reason in particular… Uma and me would have a really good time working together again. I put the character of Beatrix Kiddo through a lot and I wanted [Kiddo] to have this much time for peace.”

He went on to explain that the characters will have aged as much in the film as they have in real life since the two original two volumes of Kill Bill, something he has hinted at in the past. He also called Kill Bill his most “visionary” movie, which certainly indicates he still has some love for it.

Tarantino also spoke about the possibility of doing a TV mini-series if the circumstances were right. While is appears open to the possibility, he is unsurprisingly not sold on the idea that TV is necessarily a better medium than film:

“It would be wonderful and I would be happy to do it and it would be a very invigorating experience, but everyone is going down this ‘TV is so great’ road and I’m only simply pointing out that there is a difference between the two of them.”

It seems like Tarantino still has a few ideas in his back pocket, despite recent talk about his eventualretirement. Fans would certainly not be disappointed to see the long-discussed Kill Bill 3 happen. Whether or not it ends up being one of Tarantino’s final films is still up in the air, but at least at this point he still hasn’t taken it off the table.

The Hateful Eight opens in U.S. theaters equipped with 70mm capabilities on December 25th, 2015. It will begin a regular theatrical release on January 8th, 2016.
